Since an update to Android 11, they have put some restrictions on File Management, Google has put the limit to view, access, or modified Folder or File inside the Android folder, which means you can’t copy or paste the game’s OBB or data on Android R. But we have some solutions to access the Android folder I’ve explained below. With this solution, you can still use config PUBG Mobile on Android 11.
Android 11 is the eleventh major release and 18th version of Android, the mobile operating system developed by the Open Handset Alliance led by Google. It was released on September 8, 2020, and is the latest Android version to date. Wikipedia
So much of your confusion about the obb or data folder in Internal/Android is not shown anymore. This’s the worst situation for game modifiers, let’s say the config enjoyers LOL. I’ve made a post to use config on Android 11 on PUBG Mobile by the way, check it out if you have interested.
The new API is supposed to hinder apps from reading each other’s data, this means they can stopping bad actors from snooping through your phone but that restriction also extends to your file explorers and you can’t access the Obb or Data folder through average File Manager app.
How to Access and Edit Android Folder on Android 11
Here’s tutorial bypasses Scoped Storage’s drastic limitations on Android 11 (root or non-root) with “Root Explorer”, Make sure to follow the tutorial below correctly so you’ll not make a mistake.
Non Root Devices
This should be work with non-rooted devices. I’ve tried it on Android 11 phone without rooted and it works like normal. So we’ll use the “Root Explorer”. Maybe not any version of this app will work without no root to access the Android folder, but I’ll give you the right choice.
- Download Root Explorer
- Install as usual
- Open the app and give them the storage permissions
- Hit at the 3 lines at the top-left side
- Click “Home”
- You’ll bring to the “STORAGE” section
- Now you can access those folders.
- Good luck!
Rooted Devices
If you have rooted your phone, maybe you can use most of the File Manager to bypass the Android 11 storage limitation, but the only app I’ve tested is also “Root Explorer”. So we’ll gonna use this app again.
First Method
- Download Root Explorer
- Install as usual
- Open the app and give them the storage permissions
- Hit at the 3 lines at the top-left side
- Click “Home”
- You’ll bring to the “STORAGE” section
- Now you can access those folders.
- Good luck!
Second Method
- Download Root Explorer
- Install as usual
- Open the app and give them the storage permissions
- Look at the left side, you’ll found the “ROOT” folder, hit on it
- Give the “Root Permission”, it will appear at the moment.
- Scroll and search for “Storage/Emulated/0” or “sdcard“
- You can open the Obb or Data folder trought this way.
- If you can’t copy-paste, Move the file first to the root folder.
- Good luck
Some people also work with the “X-Plore” or “MiXplorer” app but I don’t have any idea cuz I’ve not tested it so let me know in the comment. That’s how to bypasses Scoped Storage’s drastic limitations on Android 11 (R). I know this’s sck so I hope Google will give us a solution for this problem.
